How to test your kid's toys for lead

Just about everything in your house seems to be made in China these days. Including childrens toys.

All the toy recalls had me wondering if there was a lead paint test kit that didn't cost an arm and a leg, and I found one:

These kits start at only $12.99 and go up depending on how many things you want to test. I got the 24 pack because our boy has a lot of toys.

We found one that didn't pass the test and it was something we'd seen him put in his mouth more than once!

I highly recommend every parent get a lead test kit because chances are excellent that something your kid plays with has lead in it if it is from China!

Jack, good tips again. I once purchased a cheap harmonica that was made in China. They painted it with some weird black paint that I suspected had lead in it.I had to throw it away because it made me sick every time I played it. Guess some people place money ahead of common sense and safety.Regards, Jared Blake

Great advice, prevention is better than cure. But if you're worried that your children (or you) may already be suffering from lead poisoning (or mercury or aluminum) you'd be well advised to check it out with a Hair Mineral Analysis.
